Orange Spain has officially announced the permanent shutdown of all its email services as of September 5, 2025.

Orange Spain Closing its Email Services

What will happen on September 5?

All accounts will be permanently closed and deletedwithout exception. Even end users will no longer be able to access their messages!

This announcement affects anyone using one of the following 17 domains:

  • orange.es
  • amena.com
  • ctv.es
  • ya.com
  • wanadoo.es
  • jet.es
  • wanadooadsl.net
  • mixmail.com
  • jazzfree.com
  • autocity.com
  • eresmas.com
  • eresmas.net
  • rincondelvago.com
  • chueca.com
  • orangemail.es
  • orangecorreo.es
  • telepolis.com

What are the risks if you continue sending to these domains?

Continuing to send emails to these domains may damage the reputation of your sending infrastructure—your IPs and your domains. There is a high risk that these domains will soon be converted into spam traps.

What should you do to avoid this risk?

Since the service is shutting down, it will no longer be possible to reach any recipient at any of these 17 domains. You’ll need to block them all!

Here’s how to do it, depending on your MTA:

  • Postfix: Use the smtpd_recipient_restrictions directive to reject messages
  • KumoMTA: Create a suppression list using a specific Lua script
  • GreenArrow: Set up a drop route or use the delivery_override directive for these domains
  • PowerMTA: Create an MX Rollup List pointing to a blackhole VMTA or add the domains to a suppression list
